Airport Roof Protection
The metal roof of this Airport building was suffering from localized corrosion. Leaks had been reported in multiple locations. The roof was cleaned and spot primed with Corro-Tech GP. Non-corroded areas were treated with Uni-Tech MC Primer. The 600 ft² roof area was then treated with the Poly-Tech System. This consists of one coat of Poly-Tech, which is totally reinforced using Poly-Tech Reinforcing followed by a second coat of Poly-Tech.

Anti Graffiti Wall Coating
Wall-Tech UV was selected when a high performance graffiti resistant coating that could be applied over a previously painted acrylic mural was required.
Wall-Tech UV is a water-based polyurethane coating designed for use on both external and internal walls. It offers outstanding graffiti, weather and chemical resistance together with superior gloss and color stability.

Asphalt Roof Resurface
Poly-Tech roofing membrane along with Poly-Tech BP Primer and Poly-Tech Reinforcing Tape were used to upgrade a deteriorated asphalt roof.
Corro-Tech GP was used to coat air vents and will offer excellent protection.

Bag House Protection
A coke and battery plant was having erosion and corrosion problems in their bag houses. Looking for an alternative to expensive replacement, they contacted us to come up with a solution. The small holes were filled with Metal-Tech RG. The entire structure was then coated with Chemi-Tech 152LV.

Balcony Protection - Steel
This galvanised steel balcony had been suffering from severe rusting as well as leakage through several substantial holes.
The holes were sealed by means of bonding steel plates to the balcony. The heavily rusted areas were then coated with Corro-Tech GP, our high performance anti-corrosive coating. One coat of Uni-Tech MC Primer was then applied to the whole surface. A finish consisting of two coats of Floor-Tech PU was used.

Balcony Protection - Stone
This seaside hotel had several balconies of a stone or quarry tile construction, which had been earmarked for refurbishment. The client sought a high performance coating which would offer a tough, durable, UV resistant finish.
The balcony surface was power washed and primed with Uni-Tech GP Primer, over which Floor-Tech PU was applied. Floor-Tech PU is a single component, solvent-based, moisture-cured flexible coating ideal for the longterm protection of balconies, showrooms or any areas where a flexible, color stable floor finish is required.

Bearing Housing Repair
A bearing housing was very badly worn on both the inside and outside. It was repaired without being dismantled. The roller bearing was fixed in the housing. All gaps were sealed with Metal-Tech RG. After these were sealed, Metal Tech FG was injected with a cartridge between the roller bearing and the bearing housing. The bearing housing was back in service in a few hours.

Beverage Power Plant Floor Repair
The floor in the power plant of a major beverage manufacturer was badly damaged from constant chemical attack. Following strict EPA guidelines, USI had the solution they needed. The damaged concrete was repaired with Grano-Tech, followed by Floor-Tech SP. Then finished with Chemi-Tech UC to protect from future chemical damage.

Bridge Protection
Poly-Nox is a single component, water-based, anti-corrosive acrylic coating that offers superior elastomeric and adhesion properties as well as optimum levels of UV and corrosion resistance. It is simple, easy-to-use and provides the ideal anti-corrosive encapsulation system for coated steelwork and concrete.
The New York State Bridge Authority, as part of its ongoing bridge refurbishment program, required a high performance encapsulation system that could be used to protect the previously painted steelwork as well as cable bundles, shrouds and spider joints. 12,900 ft² of the Mid-Hudson Bridge were coated using Poly-Nox.

Bronze Impeller Refurbishment
A power plant had a bronze impeller that had extensive corrorsion and deterioration of the base metal. Looking for a cost effective alternative the power plant used Cerami-Tech HG to provide the impeller with excellent abrasion resistance and Cerami-Tech FG for extra protection and a smooth finish.

Butterfly Valve Refurbishment
A chemical plant was having difficutly controlling fluid flow through this butterfly valve that was in desperate need of refurbishment. The valve was losing efficiency from years of abrasion and impact damage. The valve was repaired with Flexi-Tech 80 EG and the butterfly disc was coated with a release agent to ensure the disc will remain operational and not adhere to the Flexi-Tech 80 EG.

Car Factory Tile Floor
The tiled floor in an area of this car factory had become badly damaged due to the high level of use. A high performance self-leveling system, which would completely resurface the worn and eroded floor and offer long-term protection was required.
The tiles were suitably prepared, ensuring the surface to be coated was clean, dry and free from contaminants and treated with Floor-Tech SP Primer. Our three component, solvent-free epoxy self-leveling screed Floor-Tech XSL was then applied. Floor-Tech XSL provides outstanding abrasion, impact and chemical resistance. It also exhibits the ultimate application and leveling properties.

Chemical Resistant Floor Protection
A high performance, exceptionally chemical resistant coating was sought to protect the floor area in this hostile environment. The new concrete substrate was prepared in accordance with the Thortex System Recommendation ensuring that the aggregate in the concrete was not exposed and that all resultant dust and abrasive material was removed. The surface was primed with Floor-Tech SP Primer to a thickness of 100 microns. Two coats of Chemi-Tech UC, each to a thickness of 300 microns, were then applied to the floor area. Chemi-Tech UC is a two component, solvent-free epoxy coating which has been developed for use as the ultimate chemical resistant system.

Chemical Storage Tank Repair
This chemical storage tank at a heating plant was suffering from heavy corrosion. The tank was coated with Corro-Tech GP, our anti-corrosive epoxy, then finished with Uni-Tech UV, a polyurethane finish designed for long-term protection of brickwork, concrete, steel and aluminium.

Chimney Stack Refurbishment
The internal surface of this 30 ft wide by 750 ft high chimney stack had deteriorated over the last twenty years since it was built. A high performance chemical resistant finish was selected for the internal steel tube of this chimney, which operates at a maximum temperature of 284^oF. The surface to be coated, totalling 23,562 ft², was abrasive blast cleaned. All loose abrasive dust and debris were vacuum cleaned away. All pitted areas were filled, after which two coats of our two component, solvent-free epoxy coating Chemi-Tech UC were applied.

Church Refurbishment
A church had been allowed to fall into major disrepair. In total, twelve different Thortex products were used on the church and in particular, the external wall surfaces were protected with Wall-Tech FP and the roof section was protected with Uni-Tech UV supplied in a special blue color and also in a gold finish.

Church Steeple Roof Line Repair
The church was having issues with moisture in the steeple causing problems with the overhead lighting. A viscoelastic sealant was used to repair the roof line of the steeple and a viscoelastic wrap was added for extra protection.

Coal Separator Rebuild
Over an extended period of time, a coal separation unit in a coal preparation plant had become badly eroded and corroded due to the fact the separator was subjected to high levels of abrasion.

Compressed Air Pipe
A company that supplies atmospheric and specialty gases to various industries was experiencing heavy corrosion on a compressed air pipe. USI recommended Viscotaq E-Z wrap, Viscotaq Coat Wrap, Viscotaq Outerwrap at the soil to air transitions and 3M Scotchkote Poly-Nox, a single component, water-based, anti-corrosive coating, for all pipe supports.

Concrete Floor Chemical Damage Repair
The spillages of chemicals caused concrete surfaces to be very badly damaged and without protection would become completely unacceptable. A system was required that would repair and offer long term protection to the concrete floor. After removing damaged and contaminated concrete, Floor-Tech SP Primer followed by Floor-Tech RS, a high performance resurfacing screed, was applied. The entire area was then coated with Chemi-Tech CR, a chemical and corrosion resistant lining.

Concrete Joint Repair
Floor-Tech RS and Seal-Tech SS were used to repair a movement joint between a building and the external concrete hardstanding.

Concrete Stairway Repair
A complete repair of this Recreation Area's stairway was required. Thorough cleaning and roughening of the surface of the repair area was carried out before the application of a tack coat of Grano-Tech Primer. The damaged areas were then rebuilt using Grano-Tech which is our three component, solvent-free, heavy duty epoxy repair mortar. The entire surface of the concrete stairway was then coated with Floor-Tech FB.

Containment Area Protection
This concrete containment area had been earmarked for refurbishment, requiring a high performance coating that would resist acid. They first used Cerami-Tech EG, a metal repair compound, to rebuild metal components. Next, Chemi-Tech UC, a high performance, solvent-free coating, was used to provide chemical resistance even under total immersion conditions.

Conveyor Belt Repairs
Flexi-Tech products are ideal for the repair of worn and damaged conveyor belts. Two layers of Reinforcement Tape were embedded into Flexi-Tech 60 RG and completely encapsulated. The damaged area was totally repaired and the customer was delighted by the massive savings and speed of the repair.

Conveyor Repair
Flexi-Tech 60 RG was used to repair a conveyor belt that had ripped partly due to the sub-zero temperatures which it very often had to operate in and also due to general wear and tear.

Corridor Floor
This heavily trafficked corridor is exposed to the elements on one side, thus making the tiled surface extremely hazardous. The tiles had been laid many years ago and removing them was not an option, despite their smooth surface being a potential hazard in wet weather. The client required a hardwearing, anti-slip coating that would offer long-term protection.
The tiled surface was mechanically abraded to create a physical key and primed with Uni-Tech GP Primer. One coat of Floor-Tech HB was applied, into which Thortex HD Grip was incorporated to provide the required level of slip resistance. A second coat of Floor Tech-HB was then applied to fully encapsulate the 0.0591 inches anti-slip aggregate and to provide a greater degree of wear resistance to this extremely high trafficked area.
Floor-Tech HB is a solvent-free, ceramic-reinforced, high build epoxy coating that offers optimum levels of adhesion, abrasion and chemical resistance.

Country Club Pool Area
The surrounding area of this pool was badly cracked and pitted. The country club chose Grano-Tech to repair the concrete. Uni-Tech GP was then used to prime the area and applied two coats of Floor-Tech WB to provide the chemical resistance to withstand the pool chemicals.

Crude Oil Pit Rebuild & Protection
This crude oil pit was severly decayed. USI suggested fine sand and Floor-Tech SP Primer as a bulk fill. Two coats of Chemi-Tech UC were applied to protect the pit from the crude oil.

Drying Drum Rebuild
The drying drum at this paper mill had become badly corroded and suffered heavy cavitation due to years of service in an aggressive chemical environment.
Our two component, engineering grade metal repair compound Metal-Tech EG was used to rebuild the surface of the drum, which was then machined smooth. Two 300 micron coats of Chemi-Tech UC, our two component solvent-free epoxy coating designed for use where exceptional resistance to chemical attack is required, were applied.

External Pipe Protection
This pipeline had been in place for many years and corrosion had occurred with regard to the supporting steelwork and the actual pipeline.
After water blasting, all steelwork and areas of pipeline were protected with one coat of Corro-Tech GP with the material being applied by brush.

External Wall Protection
The lead-based paint of this FAA Control Tower was beginning to flake. Sandblasting was not a viable option due to environmental concerns. The decision was made to encapsulate the existing lead-based paint system. All flaking material was scraped back and one coat of Uni-Tech GP Primer applied. Two coats of Wall-Tech FP were then spray applied onto the primed substrate fully encapsulating the surface beneath.

Extreme Concrete Repair
Floor-Tech PR was used to repair extensive areas of the Heathrow Airport taxiway, one of the busiest airports in the world. The areas for repair were only available for 7 hours throughout the night and all repairs had to be cured to a compressive strength of 12,000 psi. The repairs proved a complete success with the regular flow of aircraft using the taxiway the following morning.

Fan Impeller Refurbishment
A carbon steel impeller of this dust extraction fan had been subjected to ''heavy wear.'' All loose material was scraped away. The surface of the impeller was degreased using Thortex Universal Cleaner and then blast cleaned. Our multi-purpose ceramic epoxy Cerami-Tech EG was used to rebuild the deeply pitted areas prior to the application of two coats of Cerami-Tech FG. One coat of Cerami-Tech CR was then applied.

Fire Escape Stairway
The fire escape external staircase in this hospital was very badly corroded. After the surface had been manually prepared, one coat of Corro-Tech GP Primer and two coats of Uni-Tech UV in blue were applied. This has both protected the fire escape and improved its overall appearance.

Fire Protection
Metal columns and structural support beams were coated with water-based Pyro-Tech SP to give 2 hours of fire protection.

Fire Station Floor Refurbishment
This airport's fire station was due for refurbishment. The airport authority required a durable, hardwearing coating for the appliance bay floor that would resist motor oil, hydraulic fluids, have a degree of slip resistance and be easy-to-clean. The floor was blast-tracked to create a physical key. All oil, other contaminants and spoiled concrete were removed and areas of damaged substrate repaired. The entire surface was then treated with Floor-Tech FB Primer prior to the application of two coats of Floor-Tech FB incorporating a slip-deterrent aggregate.

Floor Area- Chemical Protection
This floor area in a chemical factory was being attacked by acids from the processes used within the factory. The maintenance engineers required a coating which would resist the acids involved and provide long term protection to the floor in question.

Floor Protection
A high build coating suitable for a floor area at this Nuclear Power Station which had been re-laid with concrete was required. The substrate was primed with Uni-Tech GP Primer. Two coats of our solvent-free, polyurethane, high build coating Floor-Tech FB were then applied.

Garbage Incinerator Chute Refurbishment
The concrete chute used to collect waste dumped by garbage trucks at this incineration plant was in very bad condition. The plant needed to minimize downtime and a heavy duty repair system to fix the chute. The chute was cleaned and primed with Grano-Tech Primer. Grano-Tech, a heavy duty repair mortar, was used to repair the damage.

Gas Holder
This gas hold had extensive rusting and after grit blasting, 50-60 holes had appeared in the lower third section. The inside was coated with one coat of Uni-Tech MC Primer and two coats of the Chemi-Tech CR reinforced system. On the outside, the holes were filled with Wall-Tech LW, then the entire surface area was coated with one coat of Uni-Tech MC Primer and two coats of the Chemi-Tech.

Gate Valve Repair
The surfaces of this gate valve had been subjected to severe erosion and corrosion as a result of the very aggressive operating conditions. All loose material was scraped away. The surfaces were then blast cleaned. Our multi-purpose ceramic epoxy Cerami-Tech EG was used to rebuild the internal surfaces of the gate valve, after which Cerami-Tech CR was applied.

Gutter Protection
The roof of this building has two 162 ft. long box gutters. The client required a long-term high performance protection system, which would waterproof and weatherproof the gutters.
The reinforced Poly-Tech system was recommended for this application based on the fact that it is totally unaffected by ponding water or permanent immersion conditions.
The surface of the box gutters was prepared ensuring the substrate was clean, dry and free from contamination. It was then primed with Uni-Tech MC Primer prior to the application of the Poly-Tech system. This comprised one coat of Poly-Tech into which Thortex Chopped Strand Matt was embedded, followed by a second coat of Poly-Tech.

Hangar Floor Refurbishment
This hangar floor had been earmarked for refurbishment. A high performance floor coating was sought that would provide cost-effective, durable protection. The substrate was prepared by using abrasive blasting equipment, ensuring all surfaces to be coated were clean, dry and free from contamination. The blasted surface was treated with Uni-Tech GP Primer and then coated with Floor-Tech WB.

Heat Exchanger Refurbishment
To refurbish a heat exchanger tube sheet, all dust and loose material was scraped away. The surface of the heat exchanger tube sheet was then abrasive blast cleaned. As the tube sheet was in relatively good condition with no deeply pitted areas, two coats of Cerami-Tech FG were applied directly to the blasted surface.

Heliport Repair
The lights and cables around this hospital heliport were in need of replacing. The heliport could only be out of use for a short period and a repair system that would cause minimum disruption was required. All damaged and loose concrete was removed and channels 7.9 inches wide and 3.9 inches deep were formed in the concrete. The cables were replaced and the damaged areas were rebuilt with Grano-Tech. This repair caused minimum disruption and after a few hours, the heliport was back in service.

High Build Floor Protection
A heavy duty floor protection system suitable for concrete floors operating in an aggressive industrial environment was required. The Floor-Tech HB system was chosen for this application over other coating systems based on its ceramic enhancement. The dense concrete floor, totalling 3,090 sq. feet, was prepared by captive-shot blasting and primed with Uni-Tech GP Primer. The primed substrate was then coated with our two component, solvent-free, ceramic-enhanced, high build epoxy coating Floor-Tech HB which offers optimum levels of adhesion, abrasion, impact and chemical resistance.

High Pressure Tank Repairs
Large high pressure tanks, measuring 10.5 ft in diameter by 15 ft in length, were found to be leaking around the rivets. The tanks were shot blasted and the problem areas were diamond ground to create a key. Repairs were then effected using our rapid curing, engineering grade polyurethane repair compound Metal-Tech RG. The tanks were then coated with Corro-Tech GP, which can be used as an excellent anti-corrosive primer/finish.

Hydro-Electric Turbine Refurbishment
A turbine at a hydro-electric power plant was badly worn after years of use without protection. A protective coating was required to protect the equipment from future erosion, corrosion and cavitation attack.

Incinerator Chute Refurbishment
The concrete chute is used to collect the waste deposited by the garbage trucks at an incineration plant. It had been subjected to extremely heavy wear and was in very bad condition.
A heavy duty repair system, which could be used to repair the chute in stages in order to minimize plant downtime, was sought due to the aggressive industrial environment.
The concrete surface was suitably prepared to ensure the substrate was clean, dry and free of contamination and treated with Grano-Tech Primer to obtain maximum penetration and adhesion. The concrete was then repaired using 3,968 lbs of Grano-Tech. Grano-Tech is a three component, solvent-free, heavy duty repair mortar that offers high levels of abrasion, impact and chemical resistance. It is ideal for the repair of damaged concrete, ramps, walkways, loading bays and steps.

Intake Pump Housing Refurbishment
Cerami Tech CR resurfacing and lining system and Chemi-Tech EP were used to refurbish an intake pump badly cavitated due to years of service in a salt water environment.

Internal Tank Repair
This Waste Water Treatment plant was concerned about Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) attacking their steel tank and structure. There are severe corrosion issues. 3M Scotchkote 323, a high performance high build coating, combined with the HSS Spray System allowed the contractor to spray apply the coating 40 mils thick in one application. They used a basic compressor instead of a traditional, expensive, heated plural spray unit. As you can see from the pictures, the finished solution looks remarkable.

Leaking Pipe Repair
On News Year’s Day, this Drain Commission had a bad leak on a 3 inch “T” and did not have any replacement parts they could use. Fortunately, they had ordered a USI Pipe Repair System 4 months earlier.

Lining Of Storage Container
This container was used to store liquefied brown coal in a briquette factory. The container was in need of relining to extend its working life and ensure no seepage of its contents out of the container. The entire surface was first blast cleaned and then two coats of Chemi-Tech UC were applied. The container was protected over five years ago and has not required relining since.

Machine Base Concrete Resurface
Floor-Tech RS and Chemi-Tech CR were used to rebuild this pump platform which had suffered from attack over several years by different chemicals including hot manatol.

Metal Storage Tanks
The corrosion on these metal storage tanks was so bad that the actual stuctural integrity was threatened and required immediate repair. The tanks were blasted to remove corrosion and other contaminates. Uni-Tech MC Primer was applied. Then two coats of our polyurethane coating Uni-Tech UV, a UV stable, high performance coating, were applied to provide long term protection.

Natural Gas Line Repair (offshore platform)
A gas company needed a repair solution for their natural gas lines on an offshore platform. The two inch line was suffering from severe wall loss due to corrosion and had several pinhole leaks. The line was repaired with StopIt HP, an easy to apply, multi-component system designed especially for high-pressure pipe repairs.

Nuclear Power Station Cooling Tower Basin Repair
The client was having problems with the cooling tower basin at a Nuclear Power Plant. The concrete wall was cracked and wearing away, casuing corrosion on the exposed metal. The exposed rebar was coated with Corro-Tech GP, a high build epoxy; designed to provide excellent, long-term corrosion protection in one coat. The concrete was repaired with Wall-Tech LW, a lightweight mortor repair that is excellent for vertical or overhead surface repairs.

Office Floor Refurbishment
A client had moved into a new office complex. The floor was not protected and therefore unsuitable for their environment. A complete floor refurbishment was carried out.

Paper Mill Drying Drum Protection
A drying drum at a paper mill was badly corroded and severely cavitated from years of service. The mill was looking to rebuild the 15 ft drum, rather than incur the expense of buying a new one. Metal-Tech EG was used to rebuild the drum's surface and the drum was coated with Chemi-Tech UC to provide exceptional chemical protection.

Paper Mill Floor Protection
A paper plant in Oregon was experiencing paper roll damage due to the deterioration of the floor surface in front of three paper machines.
All previous coatings and spalled areas were cleaned and repaired. The substrate was primed with Floor-Tech SP Primer and then coated with Floor-Tech HB. A yellow safety line was then created though the application of Grip-Tech in yellow. Floor-Tech HB is a high build, ceramic-reinforced, heavy duty epoxy coating designed for the long-term protection of floors in high ìwear & tearî environments. It offers optimum levels of adhesion, abrasion and impact resistance.

Parking Garage
The asphalt floor of this parking garage had become badly damaged due to the high level of use. In addition, the existing coating had cracked badly due to its rigidity.
The surface was first prepared by cleaning and scabbling. An asphalt system was then applied to ensure an even floor surface. Floor-Tech FB Primer was then applied to the asphalt to ensure good adhesion. This was then overcoated with Floor-Tech FB which has provided the required impact and abrasion resistance with the flexibility not to crack due to the slight movement of the asphalt.

Petrochemical Pipeline Refurbishment
A provider of midstream energy services had severe corrosion problems on a petrochemical pipeline. 3M Scotchkote 323, a two part liquid epoxy, high performance coating was applied to 4000 ft. of this 8" diameter pipeline.

Primary Sludge Pump Repair
A waste water treatment plant's primary sludge pump was not working to capacity due to years of wear and erosion. The pump was abrasive blasted and rebuilt with our hig-performance metal repair compound, Cerami-Tech EG, developed especially for metal in fluid-flow environments. It was finished with Cerami-Tech FG, a fluid grade resurfacing compound with high level of erosion and abrasion resistance.

Processing Pump Refurbishment
Pumps at a processing company were in poor condition, effecting their efficiency. Cerami-Tech EG was used to rebuild the corroded areas inside the pump. The internal surfaces of the pumps had two coats of Cerami-Tech CR applied and the external surfaces were coated with two coats of Corro-Tech GP for a like-new finish.

Pump Refurbishment
After being subjected over many years of use, the cold water pumps at this coal-fired power station had been earmarked for refurbishment. The surfaces of the pump to be coated were abrasive blast cleaned prior to the application of two coats of our solvent-free ceramic epoxy coating Cerami-Tech CR in contrasting colors.

Railing Protection
Due to the effects of the environment and time, the railings located along this road section were suffering from heavy corrosion. A high performance refurbishment solution, which would offer long-term corrosion protection, was required.
The railings were abrasive blast cleaned to a minimum industry standard Sa2, ensuring all rust, millscale and loosely adherent coatings were removed. The blasted surface was then treated with our anti-corrosive, surface tolerant epoxy Corro-Tech GP prior to the application of Uni-Tech UV. Uni-Tech UV is a two component polyurethane coating developed for the long-term protection of all types of structures including steel, aluminium, galvanized steel, brickwork, concrete and GRP, when used in conjunction with an appropriate Thortex primer. It is totally unaffected by extreme levels of ultraviolet light and provides outstanding weather, chemical and graffiti resistance.

Roof Refurbishment
This section of roof had deteriorated over time and now required a cost-effective waterproofing system, which would protect the building beneath. The roof was cleaned, dirt and debris removed and any damaged areas repaired. Poly-Tech WG was first applied to the substrate, fully embedding Thortex Chopped Strand Matt, followed by a second coat of Poly-Tech WG.

Rotary Lobe Blower Refurbishment
Process Gas Compressor rotary lobe blowers were found to be severely eroded/corroded.
The rotors were abrasive blasted. All deep areas were filled with Metal-Tech EG and Cerami-Tech EG and leveled to provide a suitable rebuild base. One coat of Cerami-Tech FG was applied followed by two coats of our solvent-free, low friction epoxy coating Cerami-Tech CR. The same procedure was carried out on the head plates but without the Cerami-Tech CR topcoat - a final coat of Cerami-Tech FG was applied. The casing was rebuilt using Metal-Tech EG, leveled and finished with one coat of Cerami-Tech FG.

Runway Repairs
A runway was suffering from the general breakdown of corner edges and joints due to wear and tear over time. The edges were cut out to remove all loose concrete and squared off. The expansion joints were reconstructed and filled with Flexi-Tech 80. The runways were repaired with Floor-Tech PR.

Salt Water Pump Refurbishment
The main suction/dredger pump on a shrimping boat was used to lift shrimp and shellfish from the sea bed; it had suffered extensive wear due to severe abrasion and corrosion. Metal-Tech EG was used to rebuild the original profiles and Cerami-Tech FG was applied over the internal surfaces. The pump was reassembled and coated with Corro-Tech AP and over coated with Uni-Tech UV.

Scroll Case Refurbishment
The internal surfaces of a 120 ft long / 12 ft diameter hydro-electric power station scroll had deteriorated significantly due to the volume of water and high level of use. It was now in need of complete refurbishment. The Cerami-Flex system was selected. Cerami-Tech EG was first trowel applied and then a stiff bristled angled paint brush was used to smooth out the high spots and uneven areas. A thickness of 750 microns was achieved. In order to achieve the required finish, the surface of the Cerami-Flex EG was sandblasted. After removing resultant dust, a thin coat of Cerami-Flex FG was roller applied over the entire surface.

Secondary Containment Area Protection
The concrete walls and floor of this 150 ft × 150 ft × 15 ft secondary containment unit, which houses a 60 ft high gasoline tank, had developed cracks. Following a site survey, it was established that there were 52 vertical and horizontal cracks and joints to seal which totaled over 4800 linear feet. The areas to be repaired were grit blasted using an angular abrasive and treated with Flexi-Tech Primer. Flexi-Tech 80 EG was then applied.

Secondary Containment Repair
The floor of this secondary containment area was severely eroded from sulfuric acid. The damaged areas were rebuilt with Uni-Tech MC Primer and Chemi-Tech UC was used to protect against future chemical attacks.

Shaft Rebuild
Thortex Universal Cleaner and Metal-Tech EG were used to rebuild an important piece of machinery which had worn out due to years of service. A maintenance inspection found that a welded rapair, performed several years earlier, had worn out once again.
Metal-Tech EG is a two component, epoxy metal repair compound. It provides enhanced corrosion and chemical resistance as well as good mechanical strength in one easy application.

Shower Block-Wall and Floor Repair
This shower block had deteriorated enormously due to the high level of usage. Over the years several tiles had been replaced and many more now needed replacing again. The grout lines had become very badly contaminated with mold meaning that the entire shower block was in need of refurbishment.
Thortex products are ideal for this type of refurbishment as they are able to completely upgrade this type of application. The Wall-Tech WB system was chosen for the walls and the Floor-Tech WB system was chosen for the floors. This has now provided a totally seamless environment which is easy to clean and maintain and removes the problems that were being experienced before.

Sodium Hypochlorite Containment
A containment area and tank were being converted to hold Sodium Hypochlorite, the existing coatings would not handle this chemical. The concrete was primed with Floor-Tech SP Primer. A 40 mil coating of Chemi-Tech USR was applied to prevent permeation and subsequent attack of highly aggressive solvents. Finally, Poly-Nox coated the tank. This high performance acrylic coating has excellent elastomeric and corrosion resistantance.

Spectator Canopy Refurbishment
The spectator canopies an NFL Stadium had been earmarked for refurbishment. A high performance, liquid applied, roofing membrane was required to provide long-term protection to the canopies.
The substrate was suitably prepared, ensuring dirt and loose debris had been removed prior to the application of Poly-Tech BP Primer. Our single component, water-based elastomeric roof coating Poly-Tech was then applied. Poly-Tech is a roof protection system, which has been developed by Thortex for the long-term protection of all types of roof surface. It has outstanding waterproofing and weatherproofing properties and offers optimum levels of UV resistance, flexibility and durability.

Stairway Repair
The staircase in this building, protected by the state as a unique architectural construction, had deteriorated badly and was to be returned it to its original appearance. The damaged areas were rebuilt with Grano-Tech, the high performance concrete repair product.

Steel Roller Stand Repair
Metal-Tech XG, a two component, multipurpose, synthetic metal repair compound,
bonded/secured plates to repair gap caused by the heavy impact caused by the speed and heavy weight of steel ingots being rolled.

Steelwork and Concrete Encapsulation
The contract for protection of the steelwork below the road of this bridge involved the application of the single component, water-based, anti-corrosive acrylic coating Poly-Nox. The system, which was applied by airless spray, comprised one coat Poly-Nox followed by a stripe coat on sharp edges (by brush) and finally a second full coat of Poly-Nox.
Poly-Nox offers superior elastomeric and adhesion properties as well as optimum levels of UV and corrosion resistance. It is simple, easy-to-use and can be applied as a high build encapsulation system to coated steelwork and concrete.

Structural Steel Fire Protection
These steel columns were blast cleaned and primed with Corro-Tech WB. Our single component, water-based intumescent coating Pyro-Tech SP was then applied to the required micron thickness. On account of its unique blend of fire and flame resistant resins and intumescent pigments, Pyro-Tech SP minimises flame spread and therefore limits the speed at which the fire will propagate. A maximum of two hours fire protection can be given to structural steel. A pigmented finish, Pyro-Tech SP Sealer Coat was applied to the Pyro-Tech SP in a color.

Sulfuric Acid Containment Area
Sulfuric Acid had spilled from the pumps and tanks at this power station. The acid severely corroded the concrete plinths and secondary containment areas. Chemi-Tech UC was chosen over 20 other competitive products to cover the 7,500 sq. ft. area. First, the area was primed with two coats of Uni-Tech MC primer, a aggregate was scattered into the second coat, where a slip resistant surface was required. Followed by two coats of Chemi-Tech UC providing a chemical resistant surface.

Tank Chime Repair
An oil company need a half inch gap at the base of their tank chimes to be repaired and sealed. USI used a viscoelastic sealant to seal the gap at the base of the tank. The sealant was then covered with a viscoelastic wrap for added protection.

Tank Farm Exterior
This tank farm, which stored a range of industrial chemicals, had been coated internally but a protective coating was required for external surfaces.
Uni-Tech UV is an ideal product for the external protection of storage tanks: It offers good resistance to a wide range of chemicals; class 1 fire rating; and excellent impact and abrasion resistance.
The surfaces were first cleaned and Uni-Tech MC Primer was applied; followed by two coats of Uni-Tech UV.

Tank Room Protection
Uni-Tech GP Primer and Wall-Tech WB, our water-based epoxy coating was used to refurbish one of the tank rooms at a brewery.
Wall-Tech WB has been developed for use on internal wall surfaces and is ideal for applications in food and beverage processing establishments, where low odour and hygiene conditions are important.
Uni-Tech UV system was used to refurbish the storage tank dish ends.
Chemi-Tech PW was used to protect the internal surfaces of the tanks.

Treated Water Pipeline Leak Repair
A steel mill was losing 50 to 70 gallons/minute on a 10 inch chemically treated water pipeline. Metal-Tech SG and the larger size Stop-It pipe wrap sealed the leak and brought the water loss to a stop.

Truck Island Concrete Repair
Floor-Tech RS, our solvent-free, high performance, resurfacing screed that protects concrete floors from abrasion and chemical attacks was applied after the surface was prepared and primed with Floor-Tech SP Primer. Chemi-Tech CR, a two component, solvent-free epoxy applied over Uni-Tech MC Primer for metal areas and Grip-Tech, our safety surfacing system completely reinstated a concrete ''truck island'' in an unloading area damaged by chemical attack.

Tunnel Wall Repair
This tunnel which carries cables to a large hypermarket was suffering problems with regards to water ingress and high humidity.
The badly affected areas were treated with Wall-Tech CWC. This was where water penetration was occurring. All joints were primed and filled with a mixture of Grano-Tech Primer and aggregate. In total, almost 750 feet of tunnel length were treated and the application has been a complete success.

Twin Lobe Refurbishment
One coat of Cerami-Tech EG was used to rebuild the pitted areas of the twin lobe, of which there are two in each Roots Blower, followed by one coat of Cerami-Tech FG.
Two coats of Cerami-Tech CR were finally applied to the rebuilt surface of the twin lobe.
Cerami-Tech CR is a solvent-free epoxy coating which provides a smooth, low friction finish as well as optimum levels of physical & mechanical strength and superior resistance to erosion and corrosion.

Valve Stem Repair
Metal-Tech RG, our rapid curing, polyurethane metal repair compound
was used to prepare automatic valve stems before being machined for an accurate fit.

Ventilator Refurbishment
The housing, impeller, and castings of this furnace exhaust gas ventilator, required to withstand wet air at a temperature of 248-302°F, was to be refurbished. The internal components of the exhaust gas ventilator were abrasive blast cleaned, ensuring all loose abrasive dust and debris was vacuum cleaned away. Cerami-Tech HTX was then applied.

Water Pump Ring Housing
At a waste water treatment plant, the water pump ring housing had become badly damaged. The ring housing was cleaned and abrasive blasted, then Cerami-Flex EG was applied along with Cerami-Flex FG to create a smooth surface. Both Cerami-Flex EG and Cerami-Flex FG provide outstanding protection against impingement, entrainment, cavitiation, erosion and corrosion.

Water Tank Repair
A water treatment facility had a concrete water tank with a crack and only had eight hours to make the repair. Viscotaq sealant was used to because it requires no surface preperation, outstanding corrosion resistance and a quick return to service.

WWTP Clarifier Tank
Concrete on this clarifier tank at a waste water treatment plant was eroding. Floor-Tech SP Primer and Floor-Tech RS were used to seal the surface and rebuild the wall.

WWTP Containment Area Protection against Sulfuric Acid
At a waste water treatment plant, the containment area had been severly damaged due to a 95% sulfuric acid leak. With health and safety concerns, the plant needed a high performance coating. The floor repairs were carried out using Floor-Tech PR and Floor-Tech SP Primer. Then the entire containment area was coated with Chemi-Tech UC, to give the area exceptional resistanc to chemical attack even under immersion conditions in up to 98% sulfuric acid.

WWTP Rotary Sewage Pump Housing
Before serious damage occurred to this rotary sewage pump housing. A waste water treatment plant was looking for a way to protect it before serious damage occurred. Cerami-Tech EG is a high-performance, multi-purpose metal repair compound and Cerami-Tech FG offers outstanding protection against corrosion and erosion. Finally, the pump was coating with Chemi-Tech UC a high performance, solvent -free coating to give exceptional chemical resistance to chemical attack even under total immersion conditions.

WWTP Sewage Axial Flow Pump
The sewage axial flow pump at this WWTP was damaged and no longer fuctioning at peak efficiency. A cost effective solution was needed to repair this pump. Metal-Tech EG was used to fill in damaged areas to achieve the original profile of the pump. Then Chemi-Tech CR was applied to protect the repaired pump and to provide outstanding abrasion and corrosion resistance.

WWTP Sewage Shaft
This waste water treatment plant needed to repair their sewage shafts that had been damaged from wear and tear. The surface contaminates were blasted and the shaft degreased. Metal-Tech EG was used to repair the damage and bring surface back to original profile. It was finished with Chemi-Tech CR a high performance, solvent-free coating designed to withstand aggressive environments.

Zinc Roof Rerfurbishment
An apartment built in the late Nineties, the roof of which was covered with zinc metal sheets. Due to the low quality of the roofing material, the roof had started to show signs of corrosion and leaks had begun to occur, especially at the joints of the metal sheets as well as against the parapets, upstands and chimneys.
The owners sought a high performance elastomeric roof coating, which would offer long-term protection and superior resistance to the elements.
All surfaces were cleaned to remove any dirt & contamination and the deeply corroded sections of the substrate patch primed with Corro-Tech GP. The entire roof was then primed with Uni-Tech MC Primer followed by one coat of Poly-Tech, into which Poly-Tech Reinforcing was embedded. A second coat of Poly-Tech was then applied. Poly-Tech is a single component, waterbased liquid applied coating which has outstanding waterproofing and weatherproofing properties.
