The spillage of chemicals caused concrete surfaces to be very badly damaged. Without protection, they would become completely unusable. A system was required that would repair and offer long term protection to the concrete floor. After removing damaged and contaminated concrete, 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Sealer SP 810 followed by 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Screed RS 820, a high performance resurfacing screed, was applied. The entire area was then coated with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 162CR, a chemical and corrosion resistant lining.
This floor area in a chemical factory was being attacked by acids from the processes used within the factory. The maintenance engineers required a coating that would resist the acids involved, and provide long term protection to the floor in question. The floor was thoroughly abraded and cleaned. One coat of 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Sealer SP 810 followed by two coats of 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 175UC were then applied. The system has provided excellent protection to the concrete and brickwork involved, and has proved to be the complete solution to the customer's problems.
The floor of this secondary containment area was severely eroded from sulfuric acid. The damaged areas were rebuilt with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Primer MC 145 and 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 175UC was used to protect against future chemical attacks.
The EPA was about to fine this Automotive Engine Manufacturer for the condition of their secondary containment area. One of the issues was that the rebar was showing on the wall and it was deeply pitted and falling apart. We used 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Sealer SP 810 followed by 3M Scotchkote Concrete Mortar LW 405 to rebuild the walls. We then coated the wall with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 152LVAS to protect it from turure wear.
