The concrete walls and floor of this 150 ft × 150 ft × 15 ft secondary containment unit, which houses a 60 ft high gasoline tank, had developed cracks. Following a site survey, it was established that there were 52 vertical and horizontal cracks and joints to seal which totaled over 4800 linear feet. The areas to be repaired were grit blasted using an angular abrasive and treated with 3M Scotchkote Rubber Repair Systems Elastomer Primer. 3M Scotchkote Elastomer 80 EG was then applied.
This waste water treatment plant was concerned about Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach) attacking their steel tank and structure. There were severe corrosion issues. 3M Scotchkote 323, a high performance, high build coating, combined with the HSS Spray System allowed the contractor to spray apply the coating 40 mils thick in one application. They used a basic compressor instead of a traditional and expensive heated plural spray unit. As you can see from the pictures, the finished solution looks remarkable.
On News Year’s Day, this drain commission had a bad leak on a 3 inch “T” and did not have any replacement parts they could use. Fortunately, they had ordered an Unconventional Solutions Ultimate Pipe Repair Kit 4 months earlier. They used 3M Scotchkote Urethane Pipe Repair PR 504 and were able to make an online repair at 80 psi without shutting down the line. They intended on this being a short term repair, but it has been in service well over 20 months.
A containment area and tank were being converted to hold Sodium Hypochlorite, and the existing coatings could not handle this chemical. The concrete was primed with Epoxy Sealer SP810. A 40 mil coating of 3M Scotchkote 323 was applied to prevent permeation and subsequent attack of highly aggressive solvents. Finally, Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136 coated the outside of the tank. This high performance acrylic coating has excellent elastomeric and corrosion resistantance.
The contract for protection of the steelwork below the road of this bridge involved the application of the single component, water-based, anti-corrosive acrylic coating 3M Scotchkote Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136. The system, which was applied by airless spray, comprised one coat of Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136 followed by a stripe coat on sharp edges (by brush), and finally a second full coat of Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136.
Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136 offers superior elastomeric and adhesion properties as well as optimum levels of UV and corrosion resistance. It is simple, easy to use, and can be applied as a high build encapsulation system to coated steelwork and concrete.
At a waste water treatment plant the water pump ring housing had become badly damaged. The ring housing was cleaned and abrasive blasted, then 3M Scotchkote Urethane Ceramic Rebuild EG 515 was applied along with 3M Scotchkote Urethane Ceramic Lining FG 514 to create a smooth surface. Both 3M Scotchkote Urethane Ceramic Rebuild EG 515> and 3M Scotchkote Urethane Ceramic Lining FG 514 provide outstanding protection against impingement, entrainment, cavitiation, erosion, and corrosion.
Concrete on this clarifier tank at a waste water treatment plant was eroding. 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Sealer SP 810 and 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Screed RS 820 were used to seal the surface and rebuild the wall.
At a waste water treatment plant, the containment area had been severly damaged due to a 95% sulfuric acid leak. With health and safety concerns, the plant needed a high performance coating. The floor repairs were carried out using 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Sealer Sp 810. Then the entire containment area was coated with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 175UC to give the area exceptional resistance to chemical attack even under immersion conditions in up to 98% sulfuric acid.
Before serious damage occurred to this rotary sewage pump housing, a waste water treatment plant was looking for a way to protect it. 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Ceramic Rebuild EG 513 is a high-performance, multi-purpose metal repair compound and 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Ceramic Surfacer FG 512 offers outstanding protection against corrosion and erosion. Finally, the pump was coated with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 175UC a high performance, solvent -free coating to give exceptional chemical resistance to chemical attack, even under total immersion conditions.
The sewage axial flow pump at this WWTP was damaged and no longer fuctioning at peak efficiency. A cost effective solution was needed to repair this pump. 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Metal Repair EG 503 was used to fill in damaged areas to achieve the original profile of the pump. Then 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Coating 162CR was applied to protect the repaired pump and to provide outstanding abrasion and corrosion resistance.
This waste water treatment plant needed to repair their sewage shafts that had been damaged from wear and tear. The surface contaminates were blasted and the shaft was degreased. 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Metal Repair EG 503 was used to repair the damage and bring the surface back to its original profile.
