This galvanised steel balcony had been suffering from severe rusting as well as leakage through several substantial holes.
The holes were sealed by bonding steel plates to the balcony. The heavily rusted areas were then coated with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Primer GP 120, our high performance anti-corrosive coating. One coat of 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Primer MC 145 was then applied to the whole surface. A finish consisting of two coats of 3M Scotchkote Floor-Tech PU 858 was used.
A complete repair of this Recreation Area's stairway was required. Thorough cleaning and roughening of the surface of the repair area was carried out before the application of a tack coat of 3M Scotchkote Grano Tech Primer 080. The damaged areas were then rebuilt using 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Concrete Reapir 474 which is our three component, solvent-free, heavy duty epoxy repair mortar. The entire surface of the concrete stairway was then coated with 3M Scotchkote Urethane Floor Coating FB 857.
This pipeline had been in place for many years and corrosion had occurred with regard to the supporting steelwork and the actual pipeline.
After water blasting, all steelwork and areas of pipeline were protected with one coat of 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Primer GP 120, the material being applied by brush.
Epoxy Concrete Repair PR 415 was used to repair extensive areas of an Airport taxiway at one of the busiest airports in the world. The areas for repair were only available for 7 hours throughout the night and all repairs had to be cured to a compressive strength of 12,000 psi. The fire escape external staircase in this hospital was very badly corroded. After the surface had been manually prepared, one coat of 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Primer GP 120 and two coats of 3M Scotchkote Urethane Coating UV 840 in blue were applied. This has both protected the fire escape and improved its overall appearance.
A heavy duty floor protection system suitable for concrete floors operating in an aggressive industrial environment was required. The 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Floor Coating HB 850 was chosen for this application over other coating systems based on its ceramic enhancement. The dense concrete floor, totalling 3,090 sq. feet, was prepared by captive-shot blasting, and primed with 3M Scotchkote GP Primer. The concrete chute is used to collect the waste deposited by the garbage trucks at an
incineration plant. It had been subjected to extremely heavy wear and was in very bad condition.
A heavy duty repair system, which could be used to repair the chute in stages in order to minimize plant downtime was sought due to the aggressive industrial environment.

On News Year’s Day, this drain commission had a bad leak on a 3 inch “T” and did not have any replacement parts they could use. Fortunately, they had ordered an Unconventional Solutions Ultimate Pipe Repair Kit 4 months earlier. The asphalt floor of this parking garage had become badly damaged due to the high level of use. In addition, the existing coating had cracked badly due to its rigidity.
The surface was first prepared by cleaning and scabbling. An asphalt system was then applied to ensure an even floor surface. 3M Scotchkote Urethane Primer FB 586 was then applied to the asphalt to ensure good adhesion. This was then overcoated with 3M Scotchkote Urethane Primer FB 586 which has provided the required impact and abrasion resistance with the flexibility that keeps it from cracking because of the slight movement of the asphalt.
This shower block had deteriorated enormously due to the high level of usage. Over the years several tiles had been replaced and many more now needed replacing again. The grout lines had become very badly contaminated with mold, and the entire shower block was in need of refurbishment.

The contract for protection of the steelwork below the road of this bridge involved the application of the single component, water-based, anti-corrosive acrylic coating 3M Scotchkote Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136. The system, which was applied by airless spray, comprised one coat of Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136 followed by a stripe coat on sharp edges (by brush), and finally a second full coat of Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136.
Encapsulation Coating Polynox 136 offers superior elastomeric and adhesion properties as well as optimum levels of UV and corrosion resistance. It is simple, easy to use, and can be applied as a high build encapsulation system to coated steelwork and concrete.
This tunnel which carries cables to a large hypermarket was suffering problems with regards to water
ingress and high humidity.
The badly affected areas were treated with 3M Scotchkote Epoxy Concrete Mortar LW 405 where water penetration was occurring. All joints were primed and filled with a mixture of 3M Scotchkote Grano Tech Primer 080 and aggregate. In total, almost 750 feet of tunnel length were treated and the application has been a complete success.
